Alas, at that time I was unable to run AlgoScore on the machines here at Studio Dave. If only they comes out for Intel Mac also.Earlier this year I discovered Jonatan Liljedahl's AlgoScore, a Csound-based program for sound and music composition. I'm a great fan of U&I software, I like Artmatic, it's incredible. My main microtonal application, LMSO, can save data in Metasynth format making it easy to paint "microtonal landscapes".

I downloaded HighC and tried it out and it looks really cool but I am already overwhelmed by software applications. HighC lets you create and use non-octave based scales, in case you're interested. I listened to some of the samples and there are sounds you can get with this software that would be very difficult with other means. So, if you like it, please register and participate to the forum, post examples of use, features or bug that you know: I appreciated "septimal klezmer" a lot. I have tons of features to implement and would appreciate getting to know what is it used for so as to prioritize and see which direction to drive it towards. I'm still trying to get more feedback and getting to see what it is best for.

So here you go folks Metasynth :)Ĭoagula and Audiopaint provide similar (but less complete) functionality for PC users. Most people here, I imagine, will already know about this unique software- but I know there are a few out there who don't. The sounds, although musical (at most times) are truly strange! Metasynth is unique because it's the only synth/ DAW that I know of that allows you to paint with colour and line to create sound. I don't know if this has ever been showcased on ? (it's one good reason for buying a Mac loaded with OSX too!)
